SWITCHBOARD - THE NATIONAL LGBTQIA+ SUPPORT LINE
A VERY SPECIAL CHARITY
This Pride Month, we are proud to once again support Switchboard, the UK's national LGBTQIA+ support line.
For more than 50 years, Switchboard has provided a free, confidential and non-judgemental listening service for LGBTQIA+ people, their friends, families and allies. Founded in 1974 and run by a community of dedicated volunteers, the charity has supported people through some of the most significant moments in LGBTQIA+ history, from the HIV/AIDS crisis and Section 28 to the conversations and challenges facing the community today.
This year, we sat down with Switchboard CEO Stephanie Fuller to talk about community, visibility and the importance of creating spaces where everyone feels welcome. It was a conversation that reminded us why organisations like Switchboard remain as important today as they were five decades ago. View on Instagram.
EVERY CONVERSATION COUNTS
In 2024 alone, Switchboard volunteers supported more than 14,000 conversations across phone, email and online chat services, offering a safe space for people to discuss everything from sexuality and gender identity to relationships, mental health and loneliness. Since opening its lines in 1974, the charity has facilitated more than four million conversations, providing support during both life's defining moments and its everyday challenges.
What makes Switchboard unique is that it is run by the LGBTQIA+ community, for the LGBTQIA+ community. Every volunteer identifies as LGBTQIA+ and understands the importance of being heard without judgement.
SWITCHBOARD X BROADWICK SOHO
This is our third year proudly partnering with Switchboard and helping to raise awareness of the vital work they do.
Throughout June, our limited-edition Pride cocktail, Beautiful Things, will be available across all our bars. Named in homage to the iconic LGBTQIA+ film set in London, it is a playful take on a Vodka Red Bull, with Poetry Vodka, elderflower, Peach Red Bull and a touch of grenadine creating its signature pink glow. Every cocktail purchased will see 100% of proceeds donated directly to Switchboard.
Our annual Pride celebrations will also return to Broadwick Soho throughout the month, alongside our iconic Pride installation, transforming Broadwick Street into a shimmering display of colour and light in support of the LGBTQIA+ community. If you'd like to support Switchboard further, donations can be made directly via their website.
