FLUTE'S PRIDE PARTY: Sequins, Singalongs & Sunshine
A rooftop celebration in support of Switchboard
If you were walking down Broadwick Street on Sunday afternoon, chances are you could hear us before you saw us.
On 14 June, Flute welcomed guests for our annual Pride celebration in support of Switchboard, bringing together music, cocktails and plenty of Soho glamour beneath cloudless skies. With sequins catching the sunlight, cowboy hats making an appearance across the rooftop and a crowd ready to sing at a moment's notice, the atmosphere was joyful from the very first drink.
The soundtrack of Pride
Hosted by Jack Guinness and the iconic Diana Vickers, the afternoon quickly became one giant singalong.
From Cher's Believe to Britney Spears' ...Baby One More Time, the rooftop echoed with Pride anthems and pop classics, with guests enthusiastically taking on backing vocal duties throughout. A live performance from Diana Vickers proved a particular highlight, with the crowd singing every word right back to her.
Alongside the singalong, DJ Bestley kept the energy high with tunes that carried the party from afternoon sunshine into early evening, keeping the dancefloor full and the atmosphere buzzing throughout.
BEAUTIFUL THING
While the music provided the soundtrack, one drink quickly became the cocktail of choice.
Beautiful Thing, our special Pride cocktail, combines Poetry Vodka with peach Red Bull for a serve that is every bit as vibrant as the celebration itself, and it proved a firm favourite. Guests also enjoyed ice lollies beneath the sunshine, providing a welcome refreshment between dances and top ups at the bar.
Available throughout Pride Month across Broadwick Soho's bars, all proceeds from Beautiful Thing are donated to Switchboard, helping support the charity's vital work for LGBTQIA+ communities across the UK.
Pride beyond the rooftop
The celebrations extend beyond Flute. Outside the hotel, our Pride installation continues to shimmer above Broadwick Street, with mirrored flags catching the light throughout the day in support of Switchboard and Pride Month. A colourful reminder of Soho's enduring connection to the LGBTQIA+ community and the importance of celebrating, supporting and standing alongside it.
For more than 50 years, Switchboard has provided a free, confidential listening service for LGBTQIA+ people across the UK, offering support, information and connection when it is needed most.
SWTICHBOARD CEO STEPHANIE FULLER: why your support matters
Until next year
As the afternoon rolled on, the rooftop remained filled with laughter, dancing, sunshine and the occasional impressively committed high note.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, raised a glass and helped support Switchboard. We couldn't have imagined a better way to celebrate Pride above Soho.
